After seven years of not having Day of Safety, Verizon has decided to reinstate Day of Safety. CWA Local 2222 officers and stewards will be leading the training with assistance from Verizon mangers.   Climbing Boot Requirements
● Needs to withstand 75 lbs. impact, crushing force of 2500lbs
● Must completely cover the ankle
● Must have a safety toe (steel or other hard material)
● Have a well-defined heel of at least ½”, not more than 1.5”
● Angle of heel allowable = 75 to 105 degrees
● Slip-resistant sole and heel are recommended
● Comply with ASTM rating of F2412-11 (test methods for resistance to
hazards) 
● Comply with ASTM rating of F2413-11 (minimum performance
requirements)
