Subject: COVID Administrative Changes

Ed:  Below are administrative changes I referenced last week.  These changes will be fully implemented by Monday 1/25.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

 1, Shorten 72 hour lookback on symptoms to 48 hours in the Return to Office tool (RTO). 

2, Reduce lookback window for positive and presumed positive cases from 72 hours to 48 hours for close / clean / contact quarantine decisions.


3, Change criteria to return to work following a COVID-19 diagnosis for COVID Positive Diagnosis to 14 days from 21.

Employees with COVID-19 can return to the workplace after the following criteria are met:


     you have had no fever for at least 72 24 hours (without the use of medicine that
reduces fevers); 

       your other COVID-19 symptoms (e.g., dry cough, shortness of breath, nausea, loss of smell/taste) are no longer present (loss of taste and smell may persist and does not delay return to work); and 

      at least 21 14 days have passed since your symptoms first appeared or you had an initial positive COVID-19 test result (whichever is later).

Until the above criteria are met, you are not permitted to report to a Verizon worksite. Note that this criteria does not apply to persons with severe COVID-19 (defined by CDC as admitted to hospital and needed oxygen),with an underlying condition (immunocompromised) or where the virus persists or reinfection is present. These persons might need to stay home up to 20 days after symptoms first appeared
